Savecred is a savings and credit programme implemented in Sri Lanka by Redd Barna under its Save the Children policy.
Savecred primarily targets women as prospective beneficiaries whose eligibility to benefit from the savings scheme depends upon being chosen by a Savecred Community Development Coordinator who carries out what is called an Eligibility Survey. The form must subsequently be approved by a Programme Coordinator before a beneficiary is accepted into the scheme.
A Savecred Eligibility Survey Form includes in part one - Personal and family data.
Full name, age, sex, village, location of village, marital status, education completed(with reasons for not attending school when applicable), relationship to householder, number of children in the family, other dependents, family responsibilities.
Family particulars including details of ages, level of education, relationship to householder, number of school-age children not attending school and reasons,health problems and other problems such as drinking, drugs.
Part two includes information on family occupations and income. This deals with the type of work and the monthly income of all adult males, females and youth (ages 14-17)in each family, any subsidies received and the most difficult months or seasons for the family.
Part three is on landholding providing details of the amount of land cultivated, number of harvests per year and the crops harvested. The part also includes details of house(owned, rented, leased etc)and borrowings (loans).
